Diamonds are a girls best friend…
This mythical stone, a gift from Mother Earth that humans have admired for so long.
Diamonds are made of pure carbon that have crystallized under heat and high pressure far below under our feet several million years ago. Then the world's hardest natural material was created, but despite this you can split or damage a diamond.
When you first find them, they are gray and matt and in addition looks like any pebble. But by grinding it, you get the diamonds brilliance that is given by nature.
The quality and thus the price are determined on the basis of four C, which stands for cut, color, clarity and carat
Cut
The diamonds proportions and symmetry are the factors that have the greatest significance for the stone's brilliance. The brilliance of the diamond is the play of light that arises as a result of inner reflections in the diamond. The most common cut is called brilliant cut and has 57 facets. The cut is graded: Very good, Good, Medium good, Poor.
Usually, the cut is not included as a reference when you buy a diamond, it is a knowledge you can trust that the seller masters and can distinguish. When you order a diamond from us that is over 0.30ct, we carefully select stones according to the best cut, so that the proportions give the most possible brilliance.
Color
Diamonds come in all shades. Most of the ones used in jewellery are usually white. But many colors can also lead to significantly higher prices than the corresponding white, for example, naturally colored intensely pink or blue diamonds in fine quality are very expensive.
It is also possible to change the color of a diamond, either for the purpose of making a white or tinted diamond whiter, or to give a diamond color. Diamonds Male extra review can occur naturally in many colors, yellow, pink, blue, brown, green and red. These are called fancy diamonds.
Those that are a little yellowish or brown, so-called coffee diamonds are cheaper than the more coveted white ones.
The colors are determined in:
River D-E Very rare white
Top Wesselton F-G Rare white
Wesselton H Vit
Top Crystal I Very lightly tinted white
Crystal J Lightly tinted white
Top Cape K-L Tinted white
Cape M-N Slightly yellowish
Yellow S-Z Yellow-brownish
Clarity
In all diamonds there are small inclusions. The less inclusions, the higher price. A Diamond’s Clarity grade evaluates how clean a diamond is from both inclusions and blemishes.
To see these inclusions you have to use a loupe with 10x magnification and a scilled eye.
Clarity is graded by the GIA on the following scale:
FL (Flawless)
IF (Internally Flawless)
VVS1 (Very, Very Slightly Included 1)
VVS2 (Very, Very Slightly Included 2)
VS1 (Very Slightly Included 1)
VS2 (Very Slightly Included 2)
SI1 (Slightly Included 1)
SI2 (Slightly Included 2)
I1 (Inclusions 1)
I2 (Inclusions 2) Here you can see the inclusion by the naked eye.
Carat
All gemstones weight is measured in carats. One carat corresponds to 0.2 grams.
Authenticity / Certificate
Something that is not simple is to examine the authenticity of a diamond. Nowadays, there are a large number of imitations. There are also a lot of manipulated stones, which are done to improve the quality of the stone. You can, for example, laser drill out any impurities and fill with synthetic pulp, which is very difficult to detect. When setting the diamond it can go so bad that you happen to press exactly on the synthetic mass which then has a different density, which makes the stone look cracked. Therefore, we assess each case whether we can receive the customer's stones.
All of our diamonds are part of something called the kimberley process, ie they are not conflict or blood stones. All traders in the kimberley process guarantee that the person they are trading from, can derive the origin of the stones.
When you buy a diamond from us that is over 0.30ct, you always get a certificate from GIA or HRD. Which includes the information about the stone. Often there is a number laser engraved on these stones which is also stated in the certificate, so that the stones are confidently identified along with the certificate.
